忠告 | Sincere Counsel
如果有些修行人,在寂静山林中修行,我们应尽量提供方便、帮助和安慰,使之千万不要
' o  Y' H9 W3 ^7 O9 k3 ]离开。这样不仅功德很大,而且很有必要。供养修胜义善法之人的功德,一般的凡夫难以7 }: n! @) x; h" z# _! i$ ?! A
衡量。但若制造违缘,后果也不堪设想。; B5 R, L# g- z9 J/ n) [2 C' w+ ~
If we happen to know someone is doing spiritual practices in deep mountain woods, we should1 ^. P; o/ a0 {# l- L7 `( o! H
try our best to offer provisions, help, and encouragement, such that the practitioner doesn’t ever( Y) P$ `! g- ^1 Q1 L, l
think to cut short the retreat. This kind of support is not only in great need but also most# N, Z' w$ t+ x2 ]
meritorious. The virtue of offering to practitioners is unfathomable to ordinary minds. On the
0 ]! ~! j& g+ Q# Vother hand, the consequences of creating obstacles to them are equally unimaginable.7 @! y' ?/ L1 u. ^! `; Z
很久以前,在一座山里住着一只山兔和一位修行人。一次,很久没下雨了,修行人为之所
+ l5 O) B5 k7 D: a9 w困,不得不准备离开,到城市去。山兔得知后,再三劝阻,却不能打动他。最后不得不跳; `/ A/ I3 W8 w3 `
入火坑,为其讲诉静处的功德、城市的过患。终令修行人为之感动而留了下来,并最终获
! \) J, g: T0 k  ?2 t得成就。
- \* \1 E, S3 F  T" d- LOnce there were a mountain hare and a practitioner in the high mountains. At one time a
/ w+ k6 g( [8 Q' k3 Q. \5 Ldrought befell the area for a long period; parched, the practitioner was forced to prepare to
- {( p2 w0 ^$ w& p" {1 i* |- Hleave his retreat and head for the village. Learning this, the mountain hare tried very hard to stop
6 e5 F- h3 t( Vthe practitioner, but to no avail whatsoever. In the end, the hare resorted to jumping into a
8 `9 L, L8 }3 {5 |. f2 `+ R1 v2 vflaming pit, declaring to him the advantages of a place of solitude versus the drawbacks of the: y/ F9 }; \- |
village. The practitioner was so moved by the hare that he decided to stay put. Eventually, he* o* Q7 F: f7 k# }/ g9 k
attained accomplishment.$ u' q6 t. Y7 v; C/ @
世间的人们却往往不如一只山兔,真是令人惭愧。所以,即使我们不能为那些修行人提供( Z! W. M( l! a0 j) M! o, T0 N
顺缘,但也千万不要制造障碍。1 z8 {" L; R# X; k8 J+ @) l
Compared with this mountain hare, ordinary people are usually nowhere close. Isn’t it( H) c5 @' @1 \, N/ h8 Q" N( y
embarrassing! Even if we are unable to offer the necessary provisions for practitioners, we
: G* d& b2 E. q2 Z6 T2 tshould, by all means, not create any obstacles.8 k0 M' `$ G9 ]" \7 C/ G3 @0 p2 v/ {& ]
作为修行人也应明白,只要真心修行,再大的困难也能克服。博朵瓦曾说:
: @! Y/ q( z; H  ]' X; t0 C7 V, hAs for practitioners, it should be understood that by dint of concerted effort, difficulties could be
. n1 y8 k( v& B' k! N3 o0 y# Y4 jovercome, no matter how great they may prove to be. Geshe Potowa has taught:9 _$ Q. x4 x& S; Y
“即使纷纷扬扬下了九天九夜的大雪,云雀也能寻觅到栖身之地。同样,即使整个国土动; c* E- c8 i4 q- s* |' y* w0 m
荡不安,正法衰落隐没,如果孜孜不倦地策励修习,也必能找到隐藏容身并促进修行之胜; f3 y1 i5 e1 ~0 w/ G
地。”
0 K; k9 x) ?- X/ TAfter a nine-day snow blizzard, the skylarks can still find a place to hide for safety. Likewise, even( F  p5 H2 G& y* n9 R- A9 f* I
when the whole country is in turmoil and the Dharma is degenerating, by tenacious study and
1 {0 a1 K- g- l( Q8 v9 G) L  hstriving, one is bound to find a niche conducive to spiritual practice.' w& h! m( m: |% O6 J6 B3 p
违缘往往是成就的先兆,不要埋怨外境,应向内观。
0 R7 o0 E: B& u2 dObstacles usually are the presages of accomplishment. Do not blame outward circumstances;
: Q( [5 K7 F6 W6 b: C7 S/ Breflect inward instead.
