离家 | Leaving Home$ A' Z3 W( X8 G% b
4 t+ E% T6 m5 p+ G8 e
作为一个修行人,如果在家修持,极易为贪嗔痴的外境所转。即使自己想安住,也会因亲& P7 m- |1 r- A  V9 V

5 T" x# {  T  z7 p$ J; w朋的打搅而生烦恼。所以,离家修行是上上之举。
( C5 l8 H, P( {! t8 G
2 {" p, h. _" j8 S+ \7 J
If a spiritual seeker tries to do his practices at home, he is likely to be influenced by situations of: e( t2 |/ ~, S# k: u" L5 X6 U0 b1 S5 K
1 x- ]! M, l# A, D4 T
craving, hatred, and delusion. Even if he has every intention of concentrating on his studies,+ J" ]& H  v# i- }

4 s( a, E) X4 s! z  ffriends and relatives easily stir up his emotion. Hence, the smartest thing to do is to stay away
3 G4 A7 Q9 m' n
5 H. g: A) K' X+ ^! }& F4 O0 }* \from home to practice.' P. m2 N! D! Q$ i1 `: X$ j

7 i, H5 {2 a' Y" K% \$ \佛经云:“何处生烦恼,须臾不得住。”& |: n/ s( g" ?3 v  B/ v: h
% k/ m/ l1 t% I9 ~& \
The scripture says: “A place that incites afflictive emotions is a place not to stay even for an
) T+ A# u5 l! j
% f1 R& X- }# _8 s6 Binstant.”
4 Z* i( h1 V* w& e7 S' D9 d) o" Y; L- F' y) O/ ^' p6 ~# i5 p
博朵瓦也说:“远离故乡与亲友,如理作意弃散乱,此等之人趋解脱。”

" j" _0 \2 ]( ^+ W
: I  B" S" h3 g9 i/ R' H( e2 }' t* S2 kGeshe Potowa also says: “Leave behind your hometown, relatives, and friends. Give up
$ n: X; H  z8 b% [
0 x8 r( }# i0 s- ^" Q, U" ldistractions and steer your mind according to the teachings. By doing so, you will attain
, @( N4 q% p, L: @4 v3 y0 f$ t) Q0 m/ W# @
liberation.”, C8 b- k/ v5 M+ q8 _+ K

' F5 B6 j2 L. \  A1 k% a9 d- \. _3 k臧巴加惹的修行语录中也有这样一段话:“烦恼因外境而生,不舍弃故乡真是愚痴;修行4 f  U! T4 r& S

2 P9 s! `4 I! C8 d需对治烦恼,不依对治者真是愚痴;听闻佛经依因缘而得,不筹备因缘真是愚痴。若远离# V+ j$ j3 y* O
" q& k& Y* ]. Y5 `
故土,即使谣言四起,也不后悔;心依止上师,即使饥饿而死,也不后悔;若通达心性,; \6 ?1 |* e7 P7 W- \

# K: ~2 M# P; l- i$ c5 h' W2 L即使短暂依师,也不后悔。若远离家乡,即有了对治烦恼的好缘起;不贪图乐果,即已产+ p3 x% K) M  B9 G- E( v0 h
/ b! m7 L% p* ~/ |
生正信的好缘起;舍弃世间法,是发布施的好缘起。不舍弃故乡,贪嗔是不会间断的。因
# o8 r* `) j1 Z; c# T& h0 R1 Q- c+ U4 X- e" P, I- {, i7 R
此,首先离家极重要。世间琐事不能舍弃,就无时修持;世间财物不能放下,就不能斩断
& ^3 s/ H" u0 D! T( U2 O9 y7 ]1 y/ N  `) b9 ]" m+ S1 u
亲友的牵连。”
; I$ z- d" ^/ G0 P9 W5 U

+ M9 G/ S4 q( @. V: kThe following quote is found in Tsangpa Gyare’s teachings on practice: “External circumstances4 r- r. t- Y9 r& H3 S3 @8 A! M0 T7 z
+ o' C/ J. ]0 v$ I& l8 o
trigger afflictive emotions, clinging to one’s homeland is indeed foolish. Spiritual practice is: U/ O- K2 i* o! l  z; K. p6 x
! I) H& F% G, ^4 x  c0 {+ O
meant to subdue disturbing emotions, knowing not to apply antidotes is indeed foolish. The' _" g" \3 V. {* w5 k$ t

/ Z# I2 U; H) yopportunity to hear the Dharma results from causes and conditions; not knowing to create
3 @% k8 p# O3 {  |: W$ y! l  K/ n
3 s: M- D7 }9 ^1 d; Rfavorable causes and conditions is indeed foolish. Having left the homeland far behind for
' _* p" y7 _( _; R9 j* L; F6 M# l# d, r  _' V
practice, you have no regret whatsoever even if rumors abound. Having resolved to follow a
" t% P. j8 J) L& M# f: Z
9 t2 p- k' V, j9 ~spiritual teacher, you have no regret even if you die from starvation. Having realized the nature
6 }  D9 ?) A/ I8 \3 ?- |7 e
9 C: W) u# ]0 \+ g* yof the mind, you have no regret even if your time with the teacher was brief. To leave the
; P  ?$ Q6 m2 @0 L+ W4 K0 s" J% ]- x4 O/ X! ]
homeland is a favorable condition for overcoming afflictions. To give up the craving for pleasure
5 L3 P/ n- ~/ U! [4 R" C3 I% J' Z: o" R
is a favorable condition for establishing right views. To banish worldly affairs is a favorable
4 t/ n( u% d7 x3 ^! R* w7 o' _  T1 m6 U' d% e, I& ]
condition for making offerings. So long as you are attached to your homeland, you cannot rid
3 |" ]; _, ~8 N- N& W' ?) d# q
yourself of greed and avarice. Henceforth, the first crucial step is to bid farewell to your home. If
% x/ n3 }/ y! @' T3 t8 Y3 Q+ s( D( V+ K4 g# j! i3 c" Z0 f
you cannot give up worldly engagements, you will never have the time to practice. If you cannot
4 s* I+ u+ n6 }8 [, I, o9 j+ [+ |5 N: Q1 v8 c- Z  \
relinquish your worldly possessions, you will never sever entanglements with friends and( o8 z% M9 x8 H3 L! @

- p5 q1 ~) [, e5 x1 V- \) jrelatives.”
) \1 \- l! \& k, X, [. G  g5 S/ v5 `' Z9 z- n1 k; [
看来,故土家园的过患确实无穷。大智者应难舍能舍,难行能行。

# r( J3 I6 }3 i8 eIn all, it seems the ills of staying in one’s homeland are indeed endless. A truly wise person3 B% R3 B! t, B/ }7 Z

. C0 Q- u- A5 C+ ushould let go of what is difficult to give up and carry out what is difficult to do.
! A6 `. a, z( s9 t3 t/ X* `
; K- R# Q0 E: d7 |, O: P. R* _1 Q  G远离家乡和财务的纠缠,依止静处时,才能深切感受到诸大德教言的胜妙之处。9 C% E+ r$ \) k8 G$ l' E+ a

- e4 G( J, [+ o* _7 jOnly when we have settled in a secluded place, free from tangles of money and homeland, shall1 _' K  R2 g; N% a

( ~4 l3 q5 j6 S  Y2 k4 _we come to appreciate deeply the sublime meaning of the masters’ teachings.
