散乱 | Distracted Mind 无垢光尊者有一句教言令我推崇备至,虽然自己因恶劣习气所驱,并没有时刻遵从,但也
8 t: A* n0 {& k' q" p5 B0 f不妨说出来与道友分享。5 R( } D1 N- z" t
There is one saying of Longchenpa that I really admire. Although my obscuration has prevented6 z% c" e0 u6 r4 ^1 ^3 `, s( K
me from abiding in it all the time, I’d like to quote it here to share with Dharma friends.# D: A0 U- W, v
那句至理名言就是:“时时刻刻应观察自心,若实在无法避免散乱,则应精勤于顶礼、转
& F0 o* w m( u( _绕等与善法相应的散乱,切莫造作恶业。若居静处时,应当修持禅定等胜义善法,不能于9 H$ H2 h" e- n0 S' O
浑浑噩噩当中度日。”也就是说,不要让毫无意义的散乱占据了自己的宝贵时光。任何心 S* n. u; }, V/ @. ^) R
情、任何环境下,都应与佛法相应。! o. X1 }: O: H! `4 \: u$ o2 b6 W, H+ U
This golden saying is: “On all occasions, be vigilant about your own mind. If distraction is
+ L. O; t/ ^: w$ Y2 a# Babsolutely unavoidable, then strive to engage in virtuous deeds that can be done in a distracting, ~7 c& J3 c( L4 ?4 o
setting, such as doing prostration or circumambulation; never commit any evil deeds. If there is1 F6 A- r% o& ~
time for solitude, then practice excellent virtues such as quiescence meditation; do not waste0 w5 }' q1 G5 F
time muddle-headed.” In other words, we should not let meaningless diversions take hold of our
. H# j+ [* f0 Z" _- Pprecious time. Under any circumstances and in any kind of mood, we should behave in
U' q4 D1 X$ Z9 \1 z( c% Vaccordance to the Dharma.
7 T- [% L+ T' i" z一些好的修行人,即使居于闹市,也能把握自己。表面上看来很懈怠,常睡懒觉。其实却
* g2 M# K% a! K& ~ M5 Q7 f) t躲在被子里看书、念经、修行、甚至修习梦光明,像骏马一样远远超胜于整天忙于吹嘘自0 b9 x- M2 X4 [- f6 S7 A
己的人。根登群沛于印度时翻译的一些零散佛经中也说道:“放逸之中未放逸,睡梦之中
$ y$ ]6 p2 D# \4 w( F1 K* | s& C已觉醒,犹如骏马之智者,远远超离平凡众。”
5 Q9 N+ Y# ]2 i& ~A good practitioner, even living in a bustling city, can still stick to his own principles. He may5 C4 T i( ^$ b$ X
seem lazy outwardly, always sleeping in. Yet secretly he is reading books under the bed covers,* H( s) ~. @; Y& I4 d9 u
reciting scriptures, meditating, or even practicing luminary dream yoga. He is like a fine steed, far/ t! d3 _0 H0 F
better than those who brag about self-accomplishment all the time. Gendün Chöphel has this& S% k1 t$ h. Q& A
saying in his miscellaneous translations done in India:1 T( m$ N5 }" l- s, c- O4 ?
A wise man is like a fine steed:! q: ?0 }) \9 V6 m5 n+ s& @8 l
Being ever mindful even when relaxing,
; S; [& G9 ?1 x- e( I/ [: `Being wakeful while appearing to sleep.# R( w% r0 x4 @9 s: Q
Far superior to common folks he is.
/ C% a# F( ~! j c3 t2 t* g1 Y晋代文学家陶渊明也说过:“结庐在人境,而无车马喧,问君何能尔?心远地自偏。”
6 O0 u* p% E+ p( }0 C- GThe scholar Tao Yuanming of Jin Dynasty says in a poem:
4 R& E9 O& P y5 e. @In people’s haunt I build my cot;! ~( g1 f2 m& R" w4 [ F5 C8 v( x) i
Wheel and hoof noises disturb me not.) t1 N4 T: ~5 m* d P: C: W
How can it leave on me no trace?! Y8 B, ~& s. p6 ^: o, @; D
Secluded heart makes secluded place.1 S6 Q( [1 s L% }; ~
即使把家安于闹市,却没有车马的喧嚣,为什么能这样呢?因为,一旦心静下来,环境自
1 ?% A( n3 @0 \3 n% O4 k) d8 ^* N然会随之而安静。身体所在的环境,往往会随因缘而变更。心若调服了,周遭的环境自然
4 D0 k3 G) q# M" F: |8 J不会对自己有所侵害。哪怕是身居喧哗,也能如如不动。心远了,“地”自然就偏了。6 \. s9 E& v4 H1 R+ ]! x
Even if one makes a home in a bustling city, one hears not the noise coming from cars or
3 E! D: t5 M( `9 D/ K/ ccarriages. How could that be? It is because one’s environment will automatically calm down
1 Z" d6 C% F4 s$ E4 d" S hwhen the mind is calm. Our physical circumstance can be modulated by various factors. A
# j" a5 S8 i' r# W5 V: Kpeaceful mind will render the environment incapable of making disturbances to it. Our minds
6 t# o4 C P( R& x7 Yremain unruffled even when we find ourselves in the hubbub of the world. A secluded mind. s, k2 z: O) o! G+ B5 e
naturally transports us to a secluded place.
