离开。这样不仅功德很大,而且很有必要。供养修胜义善法之人的功德,一般的凡夫难以 J; F& k* [3 c) K p2 H
衡量。但若制造违缘,后果也不堪设想。
6 c1 }& n6 d- ^# w* X j1 mIf we happen to know someone is doing spiritual practices in deep mountain woods, we should
+ S0 W! |3 j0 S- ]$ z3 P# O0 otry our best to offer provisions, help, and encouragement, such that the practitioner doesn’t ever1 T( u# O ^3 M q) W& u
think to cut short the retreat. This kind of support is not only in great need but also most4 @% ?8 k1 k' d H6 |
meritorious. The virtue of offering to practitioners is unfathomable to ordinary minds. On the: _5 K' f- a; M6 u8 d5 Z* a
other hand, the consequences of creating obstacles to them are equally unimaginable.- t8 P9 y( G3 r- B" }) X
很久以前,在一座山里住着一只山兔和一位修行人。一次,很久没下雨了,修行人为之所
) p$ w9 W7 w+ O7 ^, n困,不得不准备离开,到城市去。山兔得知后,再三劝阻,却不能打动他。最后不得不跳: y* Q2 r! [5 u: w! N& J, x
入火坑,为其讲诉静处的功德、城市的过患。终令修行人为之感动而留了下来,并最终获
l3 e: B- U! N" S- G; l* d! a得成就。
. {7 L9 U" O4 iOnce there were a mountain hare and a practitioner in the high mountains. At one time a9 u+ p, y1 h! `/ {2 a5 j' m: O
drought befell the area for a long period; parched, the practitioner was forced to prepare to7 J7 g- J# b& R8 L4 Z* K7 `
leave his retreat and head for the village. Learning this, the mountain hare tried very hard to stop
& l1 K7 e* Y: k( ~/ j* U. othe practitioner, but to no avail whatsoever. In the end, the hare resorted to jumping into a
( j8 e, d1 X( R& N8 bflaming pit, declaring to him the advantages of a place of solitude versus the drawbacks of the
0 ~, Q3 F' z, B0 S5 yvillage. The practitioner was so moved by the hare that he decided to stay put. Eventually, he( ]- Z; A, D! g; b3 Z/ Y( _
attained accomplishment.
! u5 F& u- K0 Q7 o" J2 N5 k世间的人们却往往不如一只山兔,真是令人惭愧。所以,即使我们不能为那些修行人提供
' @- g8 [0 W% G3 e顺缘,但也千万不要制造障碍。; ~9 ]0 E# K$ d! |' }9 V' E! s
Compared with this mountain hare, ordinary people are usually nowhere close. Isn’t it
8 m. A" p9 [0 ~# j) \0 X" |) z! Eembarrassing! Even if we are unable to offer the necessary provisions for practitioners, we+ F0 p- W0 H1 r4 [
should, by all means, not create any obstacles.
' ?6 I% R7 V' o4 \/ z3 n作为修行人也应明白,只要真心修行,再大的困难也能克服。博朵瓦曾说:

违缘往往是成就的先兆,不要埋怨外境,应向内观。
) M5 u. Y4 ]/ Z4 S0 w- T, sObstacles usually are the presages of accomplishment. Do not blame outward circumstances;
