厌世 | Becoming Disenchanted
真正的修行人应一心向佛,厌弃世法。否则,要想成功简直是白日做梦。8 p$ d- x1 H8 `9 |5 ]) \( u  E8 K
Genuine spiritual seekers should turn their mind wholeheartedly to the Dharma and renounce
. ^! C) O" ]4 ?( J8 F5 G$ M: [secular affairs. Otherwise, wishing to be successful in spiritual practice is just daydreaming.0 O5 S1 M2 ~" i9 `9 e
无著菩萨长期在寂地闭关,很多人想拜见或向他求教,总是吃闭门羹。他在关房门外写着. J1 [2 ^) B3 _# C( [8 z6 C, ^2 _
:“胜法以及今生计,二者无法同时成,若能共成则必定,自我欺骗无怀疑。与我会晤无
( {+ R  H: e; U他言,期望各自勤修善。”
9 H- @- j' ]' @: {& O8 j1 RBodhisattva Thogme Zangpo maintained his long-term retreat in an isolated hermitage; many2 C3 J2 |+ L& X( j0 P$ {- z( i' r7 b
visitors seeking his audience or teachings found themselves on the wrong side of the door. He
# {* U' \, A# |/ J; ?posted a note outside his retreat hut that read: “Between the sublime path and the secular: [8 L( ?2 r! |' H0 H7 |9 Q+ _
world, there is no way to accommodate both; should one claim it is doable, it is for certain a self-6 |$ \9 ?" b2 P/ w) V0 w. n
deception. Even if we meet face to face, there are no other words I could impart to you. May we8 _# S- i8 P$ ^4 k
all strive diligently to practice the Dharma!”
  K- {) t. k& O& q1 R萨迦班智达也说:“一个人一边成办即生兴盛事业,一边求永久安乐,是愚痴卤莽的行为
8 j" F# H( W+ w: k6 L。我们应当舍弃世间法。” 《发起菩萨殊胜志乐经》中也云:“弥勒,我不说言,爱言说
& W+ I) [0 L: n6 b者为心一住,好营世务于法无损。”; A3 C2 K5 M/ E: [/ g
Sakya Pandita says: “If one strives for success and prosperity of this life and at the same time
& T  V( q" q  E, D, f( Q! y" g8 Z5 Wwishes to attain the ultimate happiness, one is foolish and reckless. We should abandon secular
4 F1 J$ N' c$ u$ i5 Naffairs.” In The Sutra of Arousing the Supreme Motivation of the Bodhisattvas it says: “Maitreya, I& m9 h$ [( t9 Y9 P# g
will never agree that vociferous people can effectively focus their minds, nor do I approve of the
+ s: P% p* A( V. fsaying that no harm is done to the Doctrines by getting involved in secular matters.”
5 g9 S) r0 P% D! L  H1 w. H, c《修行入门》中也描述过宗喀巴大师亲见文殊菩萨,文殊菩萨赠送的一段至理名言:“如
0 J" f7 y' f  j* i2 W, ~% x果开初没有对轮回产生出离的厌恶心,纵然孜孜不倦地闻思修行,也完全不会超越轮回及/ }  E! l/ k- F1 {
恶趣的因。应当将生圆次第等高深的法暂时束之高阁,精勤修持出离心,直至生起出离心
( g# u5 \" G( M- ~2 I- z9 W为止。”- V; Y5 r# g4 n2 L* y
The Gateway to Practice describes how Master Tsongkhapa once had a vision of Bodhisattva
0 @) ?  M9 k1 Y! U+ JManjusri, who imparted to him a golden instruction: “Unless one has developed an utter disgust
& J9 `$ W( u( ?+ q. htoward samsara in the first place, all his efforts in studying, reflection, and meditation will not
1 ]& I5 g+ t$ N4 l( K+ nfree him from samsara and the lower realms. Therefore, one should put away the profound3 T8 q" C  p* u0 n+ e
practices, such as those on generation and completion phases, on high shelves for the moment.
( G* y4 K. x- L0 u4 vInstead, work intensely on cultivating disenchantment until it has arisen fully in the mind.”
+ `1 K& ~. I/ j: A' u( N0 l2 t9 i有的人会想,不是说:“佛法在世间,不离世间觉,离世觅菩提,恰如求兔角”吗?
4 p8 S+ ~" j( M& f- z2 r% LSome may wonder: Isn’t there a famous saying like the following:
0 Z* q+ ?) N1 r  r* M9 D. UThe Kingdom of Buddha is in this world, within which enlightenment is to be sought.$ L# K2 E3 y& s. v: T9 i
To seek enlightenment beyond this world is as absurd as to search for a rabbit’s horn.
3 ^" d) G6 {% l佛法和世间法应该是不矛盾的啊?+ w. {* r: w& V1 ~
Buddhists’ practice shouldn’t be in conflict with worldly activities, should it?1 E0 U7 Z7 W5 d2 ]5 k8 ]; v
其实,这种说法有两层密意,一是为了调柔刚入佛门的世间众生,迎合他们不愿抛弃世间
! u4 k' {- ^" p$ S9 B, ~' l2 l之念的一种权巧说法;二是针对已证悟的成就者的无二境界或利众事业而言。
' |7 E* J6 v3 \& n" B' pIn fact, this saying has two levels of meaning. On one level, it is an expedient way to guide those
% A" B! T, @1 `, L7 P+ y8 q2 B. knew to Buddhism, to suit their unwillingness to let go of this world. On the other level, it speaks
! \" j  Z5 Y8 [directly of the non-dual minds or the activities of realized sages.; G# d$ T4 _# O  l) p/ b7 T
作为凡夫,只能脚踏实地地舍弃愦闹,如经所说:“当舍于懈怠,远离诸愦闹,寂静常知
- k4 }; G8 Z+ _1 O& X+ y( h足,是人当解脱。”
0 x$ }- e/ z+ H$ p# yAs ordinary beings, we should keep our feet firmly on the ground and stay away from
  i" r7 D! B* v; cdistractions. The scripture says: “Whoever overcomes indolence, keeps away from distractions- k8 H7 L  A! [  `  J
and always feels contented in solitude will attain liberation.”7 u* p# u$ |' w# `2 R
浮名浮利过于酒,醉得人心死不醒。不要中了酒神狄俄尼索斯的诡计,迷醉于世间名利,0 [# D! b# [/ q
好好把握住自己吧!
2 i# v* \4 s9 x0 k# zIllusory fame and flimsy prosperity are as seductive as wine but even more potent. They make
* B3 ?$ H! t* y# z9 Dthe mind dead drunk, becoming incapable of awakening. Do not be tricked by the wine god
5 j+ k* o6 p# u  b5 |7 A- P- UDionysus and intoxicated with worldly renown and wealth. Hold onto your own principles!
