BEIJING, April 7 -- Nepal on Tuesday reiterated that it will not allow any force to conduct anti-China activities in Nepali territory. "We firmly adhere to the one-China policy," visiting Nepali Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav told Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping. Xi applauded Nepal's support for China over the Tibet issue, saying that China always treats relations with Nepal from a strategic and long-term perspective. China-Nepal ties set a good example for relations between large and small countries with equality, friendly co-existence and win-win cooperation, Xi noted. "We will work with Nepal to increase communication and cooperation, in an effort to advance the bilateral relationship to a new level," Xi said. Echoing Xi, Yadav said the two neighboring nations have always understood, trusted and supported each other. "Nepal values relations with China," Yadav said, expressing appreciation for China's support for his country's national construction and economic progress. Nepal is ready to enhance cooperation with China, Yadav noted. The foreign minister is here on an official visit from April 4 to 10 at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi. |
