Delta Airlines plane crosses Shanghai runway without instructions: authorities

A Delta Airlines plane crossed the runway at a Shanghai airport without instructions, authorities said Saturday.

The plane coded DAL295 crossed the runway at 7:27 p.m. Thursday at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, when no instructions were given, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

There was another plane ready to take off on the same runway at that time, the CAAC said.

No casualties were reported, according to the CAAC.

The CAAC has urged Delta Airlines to enhance safety management following the incident.
