BEIJING, May 6 -- Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie held talks with his Mozambican counterpart Filipe Jacinto Nyusi here on Wednesday. They agreed to promote closer military ties between the two countries. Liang said the Chinese and Mozambican peoples enjoy profound friendship, and the two countries witnessed steady growth of bilateral ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations 34 years ago. He told Nyusi the Chinese armed forces are willing to deepen military cooperation with Mozambique. Nyusi said his current China trip aims to promote even closer exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and armed forces. He also reiterated his country's firm adherence to the one-China policy. Nyusi arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a six-day official good-will visit as guest of Liang. |
