JAKARTA, Sept. 13 -- Indonesian President-elect SusiloBambang yudhoyono said here on Sunday that he would continue the coalition of political parties that supported him in the presidential election in his cabinet, vows to widen the cooperation with various elements in the public to continue national development in his second term. He conveyed his pledge in session to break the fasting with cadres of the ruling party, the Democrat party, and representatives of political parties that supported his candidacy in the July 8 presidential election that resulted in landslide win of 60.80 percent votes of more than 170 million voters across the country. He said that he would continue the alignment with his ally in his second presidency term. "Our togetherness would be continued in the cabinet and other state institutions in Jakarta and in the regions. Besides that it should also persist in the House of Representatives (DPR) and regional parliaments," Susilo was quoted as saying by the Kompas.com as saying in his remarks in the session held here. He also said that he would embrace more forums, among others business people and non-governmental organizations, to take part succeeding his plans to develop the country in his term that would last in 2014. Susilo also pledged that he could comply with promises he conveyed during the campaign period, saying that he and his running mate, former Indonesian central bank governor Boediono, are drafting plans in his first 100 days reigning the country. Susilo said that together with Boediono, he would select the figures eligible to become his aides in his second term. The selection would begin after Oct. 1, he said. In the meantime, Susilo said that he and the vice president elect Boediono are now drafting the criteria and working contracts for the selected candidates to become his ministers. "My ministers would consist of the right people in the right place and in the right time. My ministers would also people with high dedications and comply with our working contracts," Susilo said. Susilo and Boediono would be sworn in as the president and vice president of Indonesian president for the service term of 2009 -20014 in October this year. |
