(Xinhua/Huang Jingwen) BEIJING, Sept. 20 -- An art performance was held at the No. 1 Studio of the China Central Television (CCTV), in Beijing, on Sunday afternoon, to celebrate the 60th founding anniversary of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau, was among a 1,000-strongaudience. The whole performance, entitled "We Have Walked Together", was divided into four parts to depict the 60-year history of the country's political advisory body. A number of CPPCC National Committee members also participated in the performance. At the end of the festive event, Jia and some other senior members of the CPPCC National Committee had pictures taken with the performers on the stage The art performance was co-sponsored by the General Office of the CPPCC National Committee, the Ministry of Culture, and the CCTV. |
