SEOUL, Sept. 28 -- South Korean President Lee Myung-bak is set to travel to Beijing for a trilateral summit with Chinese and Japanese leaders on Oct. 10, South Korea's presidential office Cheong Wa Dae on Monday said in a news release.

Lee will meet with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and Japan's new Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama to discuss ways to further develop cooperation among the three countries, Cheong Wa Dae said.

The summit, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the three-way cooperation, will also touch upon regional security issues, including the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, it added.

"The upcoming summit is expected to be an opportunity to significantly improve the cooperation among the three countries as the leaders will exchange their views on a wide range of ongoing issues and issues of their mutual concern," Cheong Wa Dae said.
