ALMATY, Sept. 30 -- Ozoda Rakhmona, the second daughter of Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon, has been named deputy foreign minister of the Central Asian country, according to reports reaching here from Dushanbe. The press communiqu¨¦ released by the Tajik Presidential Press and Information Office only mentioned Rakhmona's appointment without giving any further details. Rakhmona, aged 30, studied at Georgetown University in Washington, and served in the Tajik embassy to the United States for two years where she was responsible for cultural and educational issues. Since September 2007, she has been head of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry. |
