China will not accept extreme pressure in any form, and will take necessary countermeasures if the U.S. imposes additional tariffs on Chinese imports, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a regular briefing on Friday. China is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposes the U.S. side intending to impose an additional 10-percent tariff on 300 billion dollars' worth of Chinese imports, hoping the U.S. can get back on the right track, noted Hua. "It's time for the U.S. side to show their sincerity," Hua added. Hua made the remarks after U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday said he would impose an additional 10-percent tariff on 300 billion dollars' worth of Chinese imports starting Sept. 1. |
