Addressing a regular press briefing on Thursday, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying dismissed allegations made by U.S. Ambassador to Australia Arthur Culvahouse who claimed that China was harassing members of the Uygur community in Australia.

During an interview with ABC News on Thursday, Culvahouse alleged fake police cars with Chinese police logos had been parked outside Uygurs' houses.

"This just makes me want to laugh. Are the Chinese police stupid, or the Australian police incompetent, or is the U.S. ambassador to Australia stupid?" Hua responded.

"Would Chinese police travel across the ocean to park fake police cars in front of Uygurs' residences? I don't think even a bad screenwriter in Hollywood could write such a bad script."

The spokesperson also said if the U.S. ambassador wanted to smear China, he needed to use some brains.
