HANGZHOU, Jan. 6 -- Nine people died and two were injured when an apartment building caught fire in east China's Zhejiang Province early Wednesday. One female and eight male bodies were found in the building in Wenzhou city, said a fireman surnamed Wu. The two injured were taken to hospital where their conditions were stable, he said. "The fire started at 12:50 a.m., and was out at 2 a.m.," Wu said. Ten fire trucks and more than 50 fire-fighters attended the blaze, said Wu. Apartments in the four-storey building were for rent and were mainly inhabited by migrant workers. Police are investigating the cause of the fire. |
