(ECNS) -- The Wentian lab module completed its rotation at 12:44 p.m. (BJT) on Friday after about an hour of coordination between staff in the space station and on the ground, according to the China Manned Space Agency. The Wentian lab module separated from the core module Tianhe, rotated and docked with a docking port of the connecting section. After the position adjustment, the space station combination turned into an “L” shape from the previous horizontal shape. The space station combination will operate in orbit in the “L” shape, waiting for Mengtian, a similar lab module scheduled to launch in October. Once attached, the three modules will form a “T” shape. China launched its space station lab module Wentian, the largest spacecraft ever developed by the country, into orbit on July 24. |
