Photo:Xinhua/AFP Between 50 to 60 cars were burned out in an overnight disturbance in Grenoble city, southeast France, from Friday to Saturday after police shot dead an armed malefactor who was on his fly from a robbery. The blaze took place at night at a populous district in Grenoble, the area where policemen killed the young fugitive robber in a shootout during a chase earlier Friday. Local police have arrested two youngsters, including a juvenile, but it remains unclear whether they were suspects in the car torching case or involved in the deadly robbery, according to French media. The killed young man, 27, had reportedly been convicted for armed robbery for three times before the incident. French Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux is on his way to Grenoble to deal with the disturbance, local media reported. |
