Spring Festival listed as UN floating holiday

(ECNS) -- The Spring Festival has been officially listed as a UN Floating Holiday in the UN Calendar of Conferences and Meetings starting from 2024, the Chinese Mission to the United Nations announced in a statement on Friday. 

The 78th United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted the decision on Friday. 

"This shows the wide influence of Chinese civilization and it will vigorously promote exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations, exemplifying the value of diversity and inclusivity that the UN has advocated," said Dai Bing, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations.
