(ECNS) -- yú yuè lóng mén, literally, means a carp leaps over Longmen, a dangerous and high obstacle, to become a dragon, or Loong. Longmen, or the Dragon Gate, refers to the narrowest part of the Yellow River Gorge, located at the border of Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces. This idiom is used to metaphorize career success or high status. It conveys well wishes for others' flourishing careers during festive occasions. Have you felt the profoundness of Chinese culture? I hope all of us strive forward in the new year and embrace a bright future, like a Chinese dragon soaring, and a tiger leaping! |
