5 dead, 15 missing in flooding in Meizhou

Heavy rain led to severe flooding and landslides in Meizhou, in South China's Guangdong province, resulting in five deaths and 15 missing, as of Monday.

Sishui town in Pingyuan county recorded 369.3 mm of rain in 24 hours. The disaster affected multiple towns, including Renju, Dongshi, Nancai and Songyuan, with a further thirteen people trapped.

Rescue efforts are ongoing.
