Peruvian Navy divers Wednesday found the body of the captain of a Chinese fishing vessel that capsized off Peru's port city of Callao on Tuesday, local officials said. The Fuyuan 3 fishing vessel capsized for unknown reasons some three miles outside the port of Callao late Tuesday. Nineteen crewmembers were rescued soon after the incident, and three more were rescued Wednesday. Divers found the body of the captain inside the ship, said naval captain Jose Antonio Calvo, in charge of Callao port operations. "Three of the four crewmembers who were missing were found. They were stable and bruised, but out of danger," added David Gonzalez, a Callao public health official. The navy divers helped keep the three men, who were trapped in the engine room, alive by pumping in oxygen through a tube, officials said. AFP |
